Learn More About Matt Giannettino
Sports Performance Specialist
Matt started his football journey as a high school athlete at St. John the Baptist High School in West Islip. As an offensive lineman, he helped SJB rush for over 6,000 yards in his three seasons, including one league championship. Matt went on to play Left Tackle for SUNY Cortland. Unfortunately, a career-ending knee injury left him unable to ever play the game again. However, Matt's passion for football has translated into coaching, specifically the offensive line. He is currently the O-Line coach at St. John the Baptist High School. Some of his mentors include current Alabama Offensive Line coach, Kyle Flood, and former NFL Offensive Line coach, Paul Alexander (Bengals, Cowboys).
Matt understands the importance of all five O-Line positions. Offensive line technique is specific and unique to each position. Matt believes the offensive line isn’t just a position, but a way of living. The intensive focus and training required to develop the necessary skill sets to play this position is second to none. Everything about the offensive line is learned, and that learning needs to be nurtured in an intensive environment surrounded by likeminded individuals.
Matt also holds a Masters' degree in Education and a certification in school counseling from St. John's University. Matt values growing young men, not only in the sport of football but assisting them in growing as a man. WORK. WIN. Simple as that!
